Google Maps Easter Egg | Google Creative Lab
Unfortunately this is consigned to internet history and no longer available on Google Maps, but the video above gives you a little feel of what it was like.
While working at Google Creative Lab in London, The BBC asked us to join them in celebrating the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. The result was this Maps Easter Egg, created with the help of the Street View team, that allows the user to go on Maps and experience what it's like to walk around the Tardis.
It also acts to remind the user of how useful and magical Maps is as a product. And just so you know, this is a real Police telephone box that we found outside Earl's Court Station, London.
The project gained positive coverage in mainstream media (Washington Post, Daily Mail, Time Magazine,Metro) and in a few other corners of the Internet (Techcrunch, Jalopnik, The Verge, Laughing Squid, Phandroid ) that are best found with a Google Search ;).
